All visitors from non EU countries must have passports or equivalent travel documents valid for at least 6 months. Please check with your local Greek Consulate or Embassy for details regarding visa and entry requirements.

Through the VII Ultrafast Dynamics & Ultrafast Bandgap Photonics 2023 Conference secretariat there is a possibility to issue a VISA letter provided you have completed your registration.Any visa invitation letter issued is meant only to help visitors raise funds or to obtain a visa, and it is not a commitment on the part of the organizers to provide any financial support.Organizers may NOT contact Embassies in support of an individual attempting to gain entry to attend the meeting.

How to Get to Heraklion City, Crete

Heraklion is directly connected to Athens International Airport with about 10 domestic flights daily run by Aegean Airlines and Sky Express.There are also other direct scheduled airline connections from major European cities as well as many charter flights from most European countries such as Frankfurt, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Zurich, Geneva etc.

Alternatively, one can use the ferry-boat connecting Heraklion with the harbour of Piraeus (Athens). Connection is offered by Minoan Lines, ANEK Lines & Superfast Ferries with the overnight trip lasting approximately 9 hours upon sailing.

How to reach Hersonissos and the Conference hotel

Arrival by Air

When you arrive at Heraklion airport, transfer to the conference site is possible by:

Taxi: :The most convenient method to get to the conference hotel/venue from all locations (airport / seaport / downtown) is by taxi. The approximate fare from Heraklion Airport is 43€. Taxi transfers can be arranged and when possible, we can group participants arriving at similar times to share a taxi, thus splitting the cost. Please email info@mitos.com.gr to arrange this service.

Public bus to Hersonissos (KTEL): KTEL Heraklion: Public Bus Service departs every 30 to 45 minutes from the airport exit. Once you arrive in Hersonissos, you must get off the bus, at stop number 20 and walk a few yards further on, towards Hersonissos where the taxi rank is and from there you can take a taxi to the hotel/conference venue at the approx., cost of 10€.The first bus departs at 06:30 hrs and the last one at 22:00 hrs. Price: ~3,50€. Journey time: about 45 min.

Renting a Car: From the airport / port / downtown area, get to the highway (follow signs to the National Road). On the highway, head East and follow the signs to Agios Nikolaos and/or Hersonissos. Arrival by Boat

When you arrive at the Heraklion harbour, you may walk to the Public Bus Station which is within walking distance.From there, buses depart to Hersonissos, every 30 to 45 minutes depending on the tourist season. Price: ~5€

The first bus departs at 06:30 hrs and the last one at 22:00 hrs. Once you arrive in Hersonissos, you must take a taxi to the hotel/conference venue. (See instructions above)
